Jim Marchand - Associate Broker
I was licensed as a realtor in 1971 and received my brokers license in 1973. It has been an enjoyable profession, having met and worked with scores of great clients.
After these many years in this business, it is still a great pleasure to assist people in their search for a place to live, a recreation property, a business, a woodlot, or even an island.
My wife, Brenda, and I and our many great salespersons developed Canso Realties over 35 years. It enabled us to raise and put our three children through college.
In 2007, I sold Canso Realties to Cape Breton Realty and Sherry MacLeod, the broker, combined the two companies to form Cape Breton-Canso Realty.
In addition to being a realtor, I have been involved in the development and marketing of numerous waterfront subdivisions in Cape Breton, Annapolis County, and Prince Edward Island. The cadillac of these subdivisions is Cape George Estates on the Bras d'Or Lake.
I have been involved in community work over the years, e.g. President Richmond Arena Construction Project, Strait Richmond Hospital Board, President Strait Area Curling Club, President of the Board L'Arche Cape Breton, Junior Achievement of Cape Breton Board of Directors, and Board of Directors College D'Acadie.
As well, served as President of the Highland Real Estate Board and served several terms as a member of the Borad of Directors of the Nova Scotia Real Estate Association.
I am available for consultation and for providing the normal range of realtor service you require.
